Notes	** Found John Barret born at Cuddesdon 1584 and a marriage in 1607. NB In Baptism record his surname is spelt with 1 x t. No record to be found with surname spelt as we are used to. In marriage record a John Barret is married to Alice Cistel at Kirtlington 2 July 1607 but a John Barrett is married to Grace Flexneye on 18 Oct 1607 This would make him 32 at time of Susannah's birth and 36 at Richard's birth. CAUSE FOR CONCERN that in this scenario, there is a 10 year gap before children arrive. A wild search for children born or died to this couple from 1607 through to 1617 produced nothing. The other strong possibility is that John, father of Richard, was born and married elsewhere and then moved to Cuddesdon. There are too many John Barrett's to make a distinction. Unfortunately, the early baptism records do not record the mother's name. At least that might have given a clue. Cannot find death/burial date John was born at Cuddesdon, Oxford. No parent’s names were found on birth record. Decided to do a wild search for marriages with just the surname Barrett. Nothing was found in Oxfordshire or Berkshire. Results found were: 1. Richarde Barrett to Alyce Symson 21 December 1584 London 2. Richard Barratt to Margaret Collson 21 Feb 1584 Southwark 3. Richard Barret to Martha Haidon 1583 London 4. Thomas Barrat to Ales Williams 6 Oct 1583 London 5. Henry Barratt to Alyce Williamson 8 Apr 1583 London It could be any one of them or none of them. It is too ambiguous to try to research further. Possibly found 2 brothers to John, a Wylliam and a Thomas but no parents names
